Ted W. Dearing, 66, of Cassadaga-Stockton Road, Stockton, formerly of Mayville, died Friday (August 23, 2013) in the Veterans Hospital in Buffalo, NY. He was born March 18, 1947 in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Claude W. and Beulah Hess Dearing. Ted was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam era. He retired from Cummins Inc. in Lakewood, as a machinist. He was a member of Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post VFW in Mayville, he was also a member of the NRA. Ted in earlier years enjoyed hunting. Ted loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by four children, Tracy (David Ross) Dearing of Naples, Fla., Ronald (Alysia Gilbert) Dearing of Fredonia, Andrew (his fiance Savannah Williams) Dearing of Auburn, NY, and Robin Dearing of Jamestown; three grandsons, Carter, Hunter, and Preston Dearing; four sisters, Mary (Edwin) Cannon of Mayville, Sue Scharf of Westfield, Judy Gilbert of Brocton, and Teresa Dearing of Dansville, NY. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Carlson; and a grandson, Christopher Ross.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. No visitation will be observed.
