Kids' summer program
Calling all kids ages 4-11. Lakeshore Assembly of God Church, located at 252 E. Main St, in Westfield, will be holding "Adventure Land, the Valley of Choices," a Western-themed program from July 24th until the end of summer, meeting every Wednesday evening, from 6:30-7:45 p.m. This outdoor outreach program will include Bible teachings about good choices, using Western character puppets, skits and music, along with contests, prizes and refreshments. Preserving the harvest lecture
Cheryl Wahlstrom from Cornell Co-op will be speaking at the Ripley Free Library on Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Her subject Preserving the Harvest Learn new techniques on freezing and canning your home-grown produce. This program begins promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Encore Creativity for Older Adults returns to Chautauqua
Encore Creativity for Older Adults returns to Chautauqua for the sixth year beginning Aug. 25 for the week to rehearse choral, theater, and dance/movement in preparation for the public performance on Friday, Aug. 30 at Lenna Hall with a a concentration of Fiddler on the Roof at 2 p.m. free to the public.

Enjoy tennis every Monday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Meet at the courts behind Westfield Academy and Central School to play tennis. The plan is to have enough people to organize several double matches.

Westfield Wellness Walkers
Join the Westfield Family Physicians' Westfield Wellness Walkers for a themed walk around town. Weekly Tuesday evening walks with a theme will start at 6:30 p.m. from June 11 through Aug. 13 with rain date of Aug 20. Meet at WFP parking lot, 138 E. Main St. Walks will be 1.5 to 3 miles and are open to all ages and abilities. All participants will be entered into a weekly drawing. Each week will focus on a healthy theme with a take away tip.
Mayville T.O.P.S meeting
Mayville T.O.P.S NY 1337 meets every Tuesday at the Mayville United Methodist Church on South Erie St. Weigh in starts at 5 p.m., with program starting at 5:30 p.m. Join in to Take Off Pounds Sensibly with a great support group, fun contests and awards. Any questions, call 753-3419 or 386-6075.
Mayville Senior Citizens
The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

Chautauqua County history series
Elements of Chautauqua County's early history will be explored in a special non-credit series offered Wednesdays, Sept. 4-18, at Jamestown Community College's Jamestown Campus.
Each session meets from 6-8 p.m. in the Carnahan Center. The fee is $59. To register, call JCC's Center for Continuing Education, 338-1005.
Public history, historical resources and the settlement of Chautauqua County will be outlined by presenters Jon Schmitz, Jon Martoni and county historian Michelle Henry. The series focuses on the first settler, the earliest years of settlement, the Holland Land Company and the formation of Chautauqua County's government.

Westfield Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

South Ripley United Methodist Church Concert & Spaghetti Dinner
Dan Schall will be in Concert at the South Ripley United Methodist Church located at 10008 North East-Sherman Road County Rt. 6.
The concert will start at 7 p.m. The concert will be held outside weather permitting, please bring your lawn chairs.
A delicious Spaghetti Dinner will be served preceding the concert. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. Donations accepted.

The Absolut Care of Westfield's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the second Thursday of the month in the Absolut Care Activity Room from 4 to 5 p.m.

Defensive driving in Brocton
The Ahira Hall Memorial Library at 37 W. Main St. in Brocton is sponsoring a defensive driving class on Sept. 30 and Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon at the library. Cost to attend the class is $17 for AARP members and $19 for non AARP members payable by check only to AARP. Class size is limited so those interested in attending should call 792-9418 as soon as possible to register. Any licensed driver may take the class and receive an insurance reduction and possible point reduction.
