On Saturday Aug. 10, the descendants of Thomas Blodgett, who with his family came from England in 1835 and arrived in Boston on the ship " Increase ", will hold their 139th consecutive reunion. The reunion will be held Saturday Aug. 10 at the Chautauqua County Fireman's Picnic Grounds in Stockton.
The reunion starts at noon with a potluck dinner at 1:00 p.m. Before the business meeting there will be a guest speaker to talk about the Blodgett family's involvement in the Underground Railroad. The Blodgett families of Busti, Fredonia, Pomfret are related through three sons of Samuel Blodgett (1633 1720) that came to Western New York in the mid-1800's.
Please bring a dish to pass, a cold beverage and table service. Coffee will be provided.
Also bring any old family photos or other family memorabilia to share and bring a favorite recipe for the family cookbook.
Please join us for a bountiful supply of good food, a wealth of good conversation, games for the young (and not so young) and a chance for you to meet old friends (and possibly some long-lost relatives).
