CHAUTAUQUA - On 8/1/13 at about 2:03 AM Sheriff's Deputies on patrol on Rt 394 in the Town of Chautauqua allegedly observed a vehicle to make several lane violations. The vehicle was stopped for the observed infractions and Jordan J. Leeper was identified as the operator. Through an investigation, Deputies allege that Leeper was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition and arrested Leeper for Driving While Intoxicated. Leeper was processed and later released with traffic tickets charging him with Fail to keep right, fail to maintain lane, moved from lane unsafely, Driving While Intoxicated, and Driving with .08 of 1% or more alcohol. Leeper will appear back in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.

RIPLEY - Joan Morton was westbound and Kuczynski was east bound on Rt. 76 in the Town of Ripley when a deer entered the roadway. Morton's vehicle struck deer. Deer went airborne and into the east bound lane. Deer then struck Kuczynski's vehicle in the windshield/roof area. Morton was uninjured. Kuczynski was transported to Westfield Hospital by Ripley Fire Department with apparent minor injuries.

MAYVILLE - On 7/30/13 deputies responded to the Village of Mayville for the report of a vehicle being operated by an intoxicated driver. The vehicle was located on Memorial Drive in Mayville and was observed to allegedly commit a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as August Berkemeier and investigation into the incident resulted in Berkemeier being arrested for DWI, DWI per se Having a BAC of .08% or Higher and Failed to Keep Right. Berkemeier was issued tickets and will appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.

CHAUTAUQUA - Joshua Huntress, 24, was charged at 10:30 p.m. on Monday with second-degree burglary, petit larceny, trespassing and second-degree harassment. Deputies responded to Meadow Road for a report of a male entering a residence without permission and stealing prescription medication. Huntress also was found to have allegedly entered a church at that location without permission and was involved in an altercation with a victim there. He was located at the scene and taken into custody. Huntress was arraigned and committed to Chautauqua County Jail.

BEMUS POINT - On Saturday August 3rd 2013, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a harassment complaint at the Hotel Lenhart. After interviewing the subjects involved, it was discovered that Andrew S. Hodges, 26, of Jamestown, did allegedly harass and shove a Hotel Lenhart employee. It is also alleged that Hodges did break a lamp inside the establishment. Hodges was charged with 4th degree Criminal Mischief and 2nd degree Harassment. He was issued appearance tickets and will appear in Town of Ellery court at a later date.

BEMUS POINT - On Friday August 2nd 2013, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Deputies observed an invidual operating a motor vehicle without wearing a seatbelt. Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver was identified as Laura A. Taylor, 47, of Jamestown. After interview and investigation, Taylor and a passenger, Stephanie M. Osman, 34, were each found to be personally possessing small amounts of marijuana. Osman and Taylor were each issued appearance tickets for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and Taylor was cited for not wearing a seatbelt. Both women will appear in Town of Ellery Court at a later date.

MAYVILLE - On Sunday August 4th 2013, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance on Route 430 in Mayville. Following interviews and investigation, it was discovered that Daniel JW Robertson, 35, of Sherman, was the alleged aggressor. Robertson was charged with 2nd Degree Harassment and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Circulation. He was arraigned in Town of Chautauqua court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1000 cash bail/$2000 property bond.

STATE POLICE DEPARTMENT

CHAUTAUQUA - Jeffery Ireland, 57, of Edinboro, Pa., was charged on July 24 with second-degree harassment. Troopers responded to a report of a harassing phone call in Chautauqua. Ireland allegedly called and threatened bodily harm to the victim if she called Child Protective Services. Ireland was transported to police barracks in Jamestown and later remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
