Jamestown Community College North County Center appoints new director

Elizabeth Booth has been appointed director of Jamestown Community College's North County Center in Dunkirk. She previously served the college as director of alumni relations and annual giving at the JCC Foundation.

In her new role, Ms. Booth is responsible for the operation of the North County Center, including credit, non-credit and training services programs. She also serves as a liaison between the college and public and private sector companies and organizations.

Ms. Booth succeeds Frank Porpiglia, who retired as the center's director in May.

Ms. Booth earned a bachelor's degree in communications at Fordham University. She is a member of the executive committee of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation and volunteers with the United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County. She and her husband Bob live in Arkwright with their children, Anna and Jackson.

"Elizabeth has the perfect combination of experience, institutional knowledge, professional connections, and personality to lead and manage the JCC North County Center and ensure its success," notes John Sayegh, vice president/dean, Cattaraugus County Campus, continuing education, and external partnerships.

JCC's North County Center offers a full range of credit-bearing courses to students who want to take classes closer to home or their place of work in northern Chautauqua County. The center also offers a variety of non-credit courses as well as training services to area businesses and industries.

The center's North County Training and Conference facility features a computer lab, distance learning classroom, smart technology classrooms and a boardroom with video-conferencing capabilities. The Small Business Development Center, which provides a range of managerial and technical assistance to area business owners, is also located in the facility.
