WESTFIELD - Despite the rain, it was one of the better turnouts at the Senior Golf Scramble with 26 men participating on Thursday, June 27 at Pinehurst.
Taking first place at four under par were Jim Higginbotham, Dick Furman, Bob Rogers and Trenny Jordan. In second place at one stroke back was the team of Ray Lewis, Doug Rothwell, Lou Barresi and Jim Quinn. Rounding out the money winners with the same score, but losing the tie breaker, was the squad of Sam Arcadipane, Dennis Shively, Bob Lokietek and Les Yokom.
Finishing out of the cash awards were the following teams. In fourth place at two under par were Bill Ottaway, Rick Lawson, Harry Barton and Steve Woleben. In fifth place at two under par were John Ellison, Ray Cenni and Gene Noble. In sixth place at one under par were Bill Christ, Butch Joint, Jim Wise and Todd Swanson. In seventh place at even par were Bill Cole, John Jones and Dave Holser.
Singular prizes for accuracy were claimed by: Noble for closest to the pin on no. 4; Furman for closest to the pin on no. 7; and Cenni for closest to the pin, second shot on no. 8.
There will be no scramble on the Fourth of July.
