MAYVILLE - Limited space is available in two public swimming programs scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 9 at Chautauqua Lake Central School.
Pre-registration closed on Monday, June 17. Additional registrations will be accepted, as space allows, only on Tuesday morning, July 9, as detailed below and on the registration forms.
Summer swimming lessons are for children entering kindergarten in the fall or older. Half-hour lessons will meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from July 9 through Thursday, Aug. 1. There is limited space available in lessons already scheduled. Additional registrations will be accepted only on July 9 from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m., for swimming lessons beginning that morning.
Swim and dive club is for students entering grade four in the fall or older. Participants must be able to swim one length of the pool with a strong over-arm stroke, or freestyle. Caps and goggles are required. Participants will work on stroke techniques and endurance for freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly and also on diving starts and flip turns. The one-hour program will meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from July 9 through Thursday, Aug. 8 and includes a swim meet at Welch Pool on a date to be announced. Additional registrations will be accepted only on July 9 from 8:30 to 9 a.m., as space allows. Swim and dive club begins that morning.
Registration must take place in person at the specified times in the lobby at the main, or center, entrance to the building. Full payment must be made at that time.
Registration forms for both programs are in the literature rack at the main entrance to the school building and will be available at the July 9 registration sessions. Forms are also at www.clake.org by locating the swimming pool link on the left side of the home page.
