Beef on weck dinner, bake sale

The Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church, at Route 430 and Meadows Rd., Dewittville, will host a beef on weck dinner Saturday, June 29 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Included with the sandwich will be potato salad, dessert and beverage for a $7 donation. The church's United Methodist Women's group will hold a bake sale during the dinner.

Book signing at Mayville library

The Mayville Library will host author Kolleen Lucariello for a book signing on Tuesday, July 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. Kolleen will have copies of her book, "The ABC's of Who God Says I Am," available for purchase. Kolleen currently lives in Parish, N.Y., but is a native of Mayville. For more information, phone the library at 752-7362.

Westfield Wellness Walkers

Join the Westfield Family Physicians' Westfield Wellness Walkers for a themed walk around town. Weekly Tuesday evening walks with a theme will start at 6:30 p.m. from June 11 through Aug. 13 with rain date of Aug 20. Meet at WFP parking lot, 138 E. Main St. Walks will be 1.5 to 3 miles and are open to all ages and abilities. All participants will be entered into a weekly drawing. Each week will focus on a healthy theme with a take away tip.

Mayville T.O.P.S meeting

Mayville T.O.P.S NY 1337 meets every Tuesday at the Mayville United Methodist Church on South Erie St. Weigh in starts at 5 p.m., with program starting at 5:30 p.m. Join in to Take Off Pounds Sensibly with a great support group, fun contests and awards. Any questions, call 753-3419 or 386-6075.

Westfield T.O.P.S. meeting

Snow Ridge Motel July


Snow Ridge Motel, 6023 Portage Rd., Mayville will hold its first annual Fourth of July Celebration on Thursday, July 4 directly following the conclusion of the Mayville parade until 5 p.m. Activities include horse drawn wagon rides, homemade ice cream, a petting zoo, kids dig for pennies and other games. Half of the proceeds will go to the Mayville Library.

Summer book sale in Mayville

The Mayville Library's annual summer book sale will be held on Friday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A bag sale will be held on Saturday afternoon. The sale will be held inside the library at 92 S. Erie St. For more information, phone the library at 753-7362.

Desserts during Concerts in the Park

St. Peter's Episcopal Church will be selling delicious desserts for $3 each during the Concerts in the Park on Wednesday evenings from July 10 through July 31 at the park entrance of the church. There will also be a small variety of drinks. Bring a lawn chair, listen to the music, see neighbors and enjoy a yummy desert.

Parkinson's support group at Absolut Care in Westfield

The Absolut Care of Westfield's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the second Thursday of the month in the Absolut Care Activity Room from 4 to 5 p.m.

Westfield Alumnae Weekend

Alumnae Weekend will take place the weekend of Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14. The Westfield Academy and Central School memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 13 on the Barcelona pier at 11:30 a.m. The alumni dance will take place on Saturday, July 13 in Eason Hall starting at 9 p.m.

Chicken barbecue in


Westfield Youth Wrestling is having a chicken barbecue at Moore Park in Westfield, located on the corner of Route 20 and 394, on Saturday, July 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until food is sold out. Pre-sale tickets are $8 and can be purchased from Johanna at 753-6916, Ryan at 753-6918 or any parent or coach.

Firemen's Ox Roast

The Firemen's Ox Roast will be held Sunday, July 14 at Ottaway Park from noon to 7 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are available from any Westfield Volunteer Fire Department members.

Mayville Senior Citizens

The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

Hartfield Fire Company


The Hartfield Fire Company will be holding monthly barbecues this summer. The barbecues are being held on the third Sunday of the month, July 21 and Aug. 18, at the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Hall, Hartfield, off Route 430 two miles east of Mayville from noon until food is sold out.

Westfield Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
