CHAUTAUQUA - Jeffrey M. Skellie, 25, of North East, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se blood alcohol of 0.08 percent or greater, disobey stop sign, unlicensed operator and unregistered vehicle on Sunday, June 16.
According to the sheriff's office, patrol units were in the area of Webber Road and Potter Road in the Town of Chautauqua investigating a noise complaint which was a large outdoor party around 1 a.m. Deputies allegedly observed a vehicle pass a stop sign on Potter Road and turn onto Webber Road. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was allegedly identified as Skellie. Following an investigation, Skellie was allegedly arrested, taken to the sheriff's office in Mayville and charged. He was later released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court on a future date.
CHAUTAUQUA - Robert Sass, 56, of North East, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated common law, DWI per se 0.08 percent blood alcohol content or higher and speeding on Saturday, June 22.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 394 in the Town of Chautauqua for alleged excessive speed around 9:30 p.m. Further investigation into the stop led to the arrest of Sass who was the alleged operator. Sass was issued traffic tickets and is to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.
RIPLEY - Timothy D. Dulmus, 40, of Hannon Rd., Harbor Creek, Pa., was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on charges of two counts of second-degree harassment on Sunday, June 23.
According to the sheriff's office, Marlena L. Hemenway reported harassment around midnight. Hemenway and Dulmus allegedly got into a verbal argument over the graduation money of their son, Tyler. Hemenway allegedly told Dulmus she hid the money because Dulmus was known for taking money. This allegedly made Dulmus mad, so he grabbed Hemenway's neck. Tyler saw this and allegedly tried to separate Hemenway and Dulmus. Dulmus then allegedly punched Tyler in the nose, which caused his nose to bleed. Dulmus was charged and remanded to jail on $500 cash bail. Dulmus will appear back in Ripley Town Court at a later date.
STOCKTON - A 17-year-old Westfield female was charged with following too closely and speed not reasonable and prudent on Sunday, June 23.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a two-car accident on Dean Road in the Town of Stockton around 3 p.m. Charcy A. Kinney, 40, of Stockton, was allegedly slowing to turn her vehicle into a driveway when she was rear-ended by a vehicle operated by a 17-year-old female from Westfield. Both drivers were allegedly uninjured. A youth passenger in Kinney's vehicle was allegedly transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for apparently minor injuries. The 17-year-old female driver was cited and will appear in the Stockton Town Court on a later date.
FRENCH CREEK - Joel H. Austin, 43, of Sherman was charged with fail to stop at stop sign, uninspected motor vehicle, unlicensed operator, consumption of alcohol in motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, driving with 0.08 percent of 1 percent or more of alcohol on Friday, June 21.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies on patrol allegedly observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at the stop sign on Redding Road intersecting with French Creek-Mina Road in the Town of French Creek around 4:15 a.m. The vehicle was stopped for the observed infraction and Austin was allegedly identified as the operator. Through an investigation, deputies allege Austin was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated state and arrested Austin. Austin will appear in French Creek Town Court on a later date.
