NORTH HARMONY - Willie Brown, 31, of Erie Pa., was arrested for speed in zone, failed to stop at stop sign, reckless driving, speed in zone, failed to keep right, failed to comply with a lawful order, improper passing, passing on right, third-degree fleeing an officer in a vehicle and unlawful possession of marihuana on Tuesday, June 11.
According to the police office, a State Police Jamestown trooper was running stationary radar on I-86 eastbound in the Town of North Harmony when he allegedly observed a black Chevy Tahoe eastbound at 84 mph. The trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle allegedly exited I-86 at exit eight and continued on ST-394 eastbound towards Lakewood, failing to stop for the trooper. The trooper was allegedly able to observe and confirm by radar that the black Chevy Tahoe was traveling at 97 mph in a 45 mph zone on ST-394. At the intersection of CR-43, the allegedly fleeing vehicle lost control and traveled into a field on the north side on CR-43 in front of BOCES. The vehicle was heavily damaged and rolled on its side. The alleged operator, Brown, was uninjured in the accident and placed under arrest. He will be arraigned in North Harmony Town Court.
