Tourney raises $5,400 for Hospice

MAYVILLE - The Mayville VFW Post 8647 Men's Auxiliary recently hosted its eighth annual Don't Know Your Partner bowling tournament at the Fountain Bowl in Jamestown, raising $4,500 for Hospice Chautauqua County.

Bill Larson, event chairman, would like to thank everyone who supported the eighth annual bowling tournament that was held at Fountain Bowl in Jamestown. This year's event resulted in $5,400 being donated to Chautauqua County Hospice. Clara Dunbar, post Ladies Auxiliary president, organized the Chinese auction and bake sale, which raised $662.

This was the fourth year the event was held at Fountain Bowl. Eighty bowlers participated. Jim Schultz sold 50-50 tickets, while Eileen Powers and Debbie Pratt made food for the event.Music was provided by Derek Davis and the Tasty Groove.

The first place team was Dale Murdock and Charlie Ours. Finishing second was Al Briggs and Scott Olson while Rick Cole and Gary Counts finished third.
