WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month.
Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of March.
This month the sixth grade recipient is Brent Post. In school, Brent enjoys his science and physical education classes. In his spare time, he enjoys building with Legos and incorporating gears and motor into his design. In the future, Brent hopes to continue his education and one day work with Lego robotics.
Lillian Brown received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, she enjoys her science class and the fun experiments the class conducts, as well as her physical education class. She enjoys reading in her free time and also dance, especially preparing for the spring recital. Some goals she has for the future include going to college and to become a dance teacher.
At the eighth grade level, Amanda Knappenberger received this honor. In school, she enjoys nearly all her classes, especially science, language arts and music. Outside of the classroom, Amanda enjoys playing basketball, both in school and in her free time at home. She plans to continue to do well in school as she moves from middle school to high school.
The Westfield school and community offer their congratulations to these outstanding students.
