Sherman Central School valedictorian, salutatorian, historian 2013

SHERMAN - Sherman Central School has announced the valedictorian, salutatorian and historian for the Class of 2013

Valedictorian

Frances "Danielle" Reed is the daughter of Sue and Dan Reed. Danielle will attend the University of Buffalo and plans to major in pharmacy. After graduating from UB with a Doctorate of Pharmacy, she plans to become a pharmacist.

Reed is the Senior Class President, a National Honor Society member and a Fellowship of Christian Students member. Reed has involved herself in the National FFA organization, basketball, volleyball, musical theater and drama in her free time. She has also used her time to mentor the Junior High Choir at Sherman and participates in Co-Ed Connection mentoring. Reed has been a manager for the Sherman football team and sings the National Anthem at sporting events. Reed has participated in band, choir, Women's Ensemble and NYSSMA solo competitions.

Outside of school Reed participates in mission work through youth group work camps, serves in many positions at her church, is a member of her area church group and works as a babysitter.

Salutatorian

Samantha Delcamp is the daughter of Bill And Kristine Delcamp. Samantha will attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and major in athletic training.

Delcamp has participated in basketball, volleyball, softball and chorus. She was the captain of the softball team for two years in a row. Delcamp has volunteered at Saturday morning basketball and little league baseball. Delcamp also helps her parent with the Wild Eagles football organization. Samantha is a member of the National Honor Society, Student's against Destructive Decisions and helps at the Special Olympics.

Outside of school Delcamp has helped serve at Sherman Community Church dinners and is a member of its youth group.

Class Historian

Allyson Cady is the daughter of Keith and Shelly Cady. Allyson will be attending the University of Buffalo and will major in legal studies with a minor in philosophy. Allyson hopes to then attain a Doctorate in divorce and family law at a law school of her choice.

Cady is a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council. The past four years Cady has also participated in trap and volleyball. Cady attended SUNY Fredonia this year and participated in its 3-1-3 Program. She received a 4.0 for the fall semester and a 3.8 for the spring semester.

Outside of school Cady hunts with her father, snowmobiles and snowboards in the winter and works part-time year round.
