New York Army National Guard promotes Ruiz, Langer, Cummings

LATHAM, N.Y. - Major General Patrick A. Murphy, The Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

Michael Ruiz from Portland, N.Y., serving with the Company A, 642nd Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of Private.

Richard Langer from Sherman, N.Y., serving with the B Troop, 2-101 Cavalry - reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition - is promoted to the rank of Private First Class.

Mitchell Cummings from Dewittville, N.Y., serving with the B Troop, 2-101 Cavalry - reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition - is promoted to the rank of Specialist.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability and development potential.
