RIPLEY - Third grader James Gendron has been named Ripley Central School's Student of the Month for April.
He was nominated by Kathy Machemer and Michelle Lukasiak.
"We have nominated third grader James Gendron because he has many unique qualities including being courageous," Machemer and Lukasiak said. "He is always making positive choices throughout the school day by following the rules and expectations set forth in all classroom settings. He doesn't let his peers influence his beliefs or decisions in any way. These are some ways that he portrays courage because he is true to himself no matter what other people believe or how they carry out their actions. He is friends with all his classmates. James doesn't encourage disrespectful behavior towards others and is never part of any misbehavior or misconduct in school. He has shown courage throughout this school year by overcoming challenges when completing his homework. James is a positive role model for other students because he is respectful towards all students and teachers."
