WEDNESDAY - On Saturday, May 11, the Westfield Post Office held its annual "Stamp Out Hunger" drive.
Local and rural mail carriers set a new record by collecting over 1,400 pounds of non-perishable food items which benefits the local food pantry. A cool, cloudy and sometimes rainy day was no deterrent as the postal employees delivered mail and collected bags of donated foods. The local post office is recognized as one of the top "Stamp Out Hunger" participants, and the Westfield Food Pantry greatly appreciates their efforts.
The Food Pantry would also like to recognize the efforts of the volunteers who unpacked, sorted and shelved the items. Included among these volunteers were Todd Swanson, Keith and Janny Rothwell, Mel and Judy Allen Dave and Marc Brooker.
Again, thanks to the Westfield community, mail carriers and staff and the pantry volunteers.
