WESTFIELD - The Station Art Gallery, 11 English St., Westfield, is proud to announce it will open on Saturday, May 25.
The venue is the restored New York Central Passenger Railway Depot which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It provides a unique venue for the art of Katherine Brown Galbraith, a nationally acclaimed artist whose representational work includes landscapes, plein air, portraits and her signature train paintings. Her landscapes and plein air pieces feature the Chautauqua County area, focusing on Westfield and its surrounding countryside.
Galbraith studied under Daniel Greene, NA and Robert Phillip, NA at the National Academy Museum and School of Fine Art in New York City. She is a member of Oil Painters of America, the Portrait Society of America and the North Shore Arts Alliance.
The Station Art Gallery will open in conjunction with the Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail. Galbraith will be in the gallery giving painting demonstrations throughout the trail the weekends of Saturdays May 25 and June 1.
