Memorial Day just weeks away
The start of Summer's festive season
A time to remember those who've passed
From any accident, ails, or war
Remembering our favorite sons
Often who remember moms and pops
Lost brothers, sisters, cousins, kin
That they pray are with the Lord above
Hope the weather holds till then
And have a pleasant day, parade
To remember those who've gone before
Their faces not seen here no more
Maybe take my daughter that day
To visit the cemeteries and pray
At the stones of relatives interred
Remembering past better times
And to all those we've lost to war
Will be saluted like years before
Gun salutes at the memorials
For all those lost to wars before
I pray the National Day of Prayer
Will help to ease the tensions abroad
And finally bring some peace on earth
To bring a final end to war
