Gail P. Spinks, 88, of 3023 Route 430, Greenhurst, N.Y., passed away peacefully in May 2013 at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Mayville, N.Y., the daughter of the late George and Ethel Weise Parker.
Gail was a loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sherman, for over 60 years, where she had been a Sunday school teacher, church organist and pianist.

She will be remembered for her friendly smile, kind words, knitting dish cloths and reading many books.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Kathleen) Spinks of Sherman, N.Y.; daughters, Linda (Bill) Nicholas of Miamisburg, Ohio, Kathy (Harry) Eidens of Sherman, N.Y., Jacklyn (Mike) Moreland of Cape Coral, Fla., and Leslie (Jerry) Sanders of Olathe, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Spinks, on Feb. 11, 2011, whom she married Dec. 11, 1944; sister, June Schutt; and brother, Beverly Parker.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18 at the Sherman First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Sears, pastor of the church officiating. Burial was in Sherman Cemetery. Friends were received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, N.Y., and also for one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
