FINDLEY LAKE - The Blue Heron Inn in Findley Lake will be hosting a literary luncheon on Saturday, May 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The program, "Life's Possibili-teas" is spiced with plenty of laughter, music, "brain-teas-ers" and selected readings from author Elizabeth Rose Way's books. The cost of $12 includes lunch, surprises and engaging "activi-teas."
With each stroke of the pen and every page of print, Way is aware that "words are so powerful they should only be used to heal, to bless and to prosper."
Although she discovered the wisdom of that Jewish proverb during her early years of writing, it wasn't until after the release of her first book, "Love Every Minute of Moms," in 2004 that she began to fully appreciate its power, especially when combined with humor.
After her mother died, when family members were sorting through belongings, Way found a page of her work copied, with a heart drawn around it, under her mother's bread board.
Way's second book, "And I Will Love You from Heaven," was released in 2010 and "a little storybook," "Legend of the Sand Princess," came into being last year, written for a friend who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease, or ALS.
Both of Way's books will be available for purchase and signing at The Nostalgia Shoppe and Blue Heron Inn after the luncheon. "Legend of the Sand Princess" will also be available, by donation only. Those donations benefit the ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter.
Reservations for "Life's Possibili-teas" at the Blue Heron Inn can be made at 769.7852 or through the website www.theblueheroninn.com.
