PORTLAND - Scott Stein, 28, of Brocton was charged with driving while intoxicated common law, DWI per se 0.08 percent blood alcohol content or higher, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, fail to signal turn and fail to stop at stop sign on Saturday, May 11.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies allegedly observed a vehicle traveling south on Highland Avenue fail to stop prior to the intersection at Webster Road in the Town of Portland around 2:30 a.m. The suspect vehicle then turned onto Webster Road allegedly failing to signal the turn. The suspect vehicle was stopped due to the observed violations, and Stein was found to allegedly be the operator. Further investigation into the stop allegedly found Stein to be intoxicated and having a suspended drivers license. Stein was charged and released with traffic tickets. He is to appear in Portland Town Court on a later date to answer the charges.
CHAUTAUQUA - Kimberly L. Ferguson, 28, of Price St., Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater and speed in zone on Saturday, May 11.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 430 in the Town of Chautauqua for a speeding violation around 3 a.m. Upon further investigation, the operator of the vehicle, Ferguson, was allegedly found to be intoxicated. Ferguson was taken into custody and later released with uniform traffic tickets. Ferguson will appear in Chautauqua Town Court on a later date to answer charges.
