MAYVILLE - There were 45 members of the Mayville Senior Citizens Club who met on Thursday, April 18 in the Mayville VFW clubrooms for lunch and fellowship.

President Joyce Ayers greeted the group while Louise Richer, Dolly Gilbert and Bonnie Johnson set the tables and made the coffee.

Chaplain Dianne Goodrich asked a blessing for the food and the group. Mary Carlson called the table numbers.

After the filling meal, Chautauqua County Undersheriff Charles Holder spoke about gun laws. Holder has done a lot research on this subject and explained in detail the pro and cons of this subject. The group had many questions for the speaker.

Goodrich read "Stevens 320," "Old Gent and the Tomatoes" and "Humility" and led the group in the Lord's prayer.

After the flag salute, Izetta Ayling read the minutes, and Treasurer Edna Brown gave her report.

Wanda Gustafson reminded the group it must make reservations if it wants to take the safe driving course on Tuesday, May 7 and Wednesday, May 8.

Goodwill Chair Mary Carlson reported she had sent several sympathy and get well cards to members.

Trip Co-chair Sandy Anderson stated there are only a few seats left for the Patsy Cline show in May and the trip to Mackinaw Island is filling up. Call 753-7814 or 753-2663 for more information.

New member Pat Judge was made welcome.

The person called for the lottery was not present, so it grows. Jack Abrams won the door prize.
