WESTFIELD - The Town of Westfield will once again be holding Spring Clean-up Day and eWaste and Tire Recycle Collection.
Spring Clean-up Day, a trash turn-in opportunity, will take place on Saturday, May 11 at the Westfield Transfer Station on Bourne St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The following items will not be accepted: tires or batteries; liquids, flammables or combustible items; medical or hazardous waste; refrigeration, freezer or air condition units, no water coolant items or any item with Freon in it; electronics such as computers, monitors, TVs, etc.; or big metal items.
The eWaste and Tire Recycle Collection will take place on Saturday, May 18 at the Town Barn, 118 Chestnut St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For complete data security, remove and destroy hard drive prior to recycling.
Home electronic items eligible for turn-in at no charge are: computers; VCRs; televisions; DVRs; small scale servers; fax machines; monitors; scanners; keyboards and mice; electronic or video game consoles; printers; portable digital music players; DVD players; cable or satellite receivers; digital converter boxes; and cell hones;
Items not eligible include: any liquids; powders; batteries; fluorescent lamps; kitchen appliances; air conditioners; dehumidifiers; and items exceeding 100 pounds such as large copiers, large printers, etc.
Tires can be turned-in for the following fees:
up to 19" dismounted and not originating from a commercial establishment, $2.50 each
large truck tires, $8 each
tractor tires, $20
The Spring Clean-up Day is available for Town of Westfield residents only while the eWaste and Tire Recycle Collection is available for Westfield Town and Village residents only.
