Parkinson's support group at Absolut Care in Westfield

The Absolut Care of Westfield's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the second Thursday of the month in the Absolut Care Activity Room from 4 to 5 p.m.

Mother's Day chicken barbecue, raffle in Ripley

The South Ripley Fire Department, 10268 North East Sherman Rd., Ripley is holding its annual Mother's Day chicken barbecue and raffle on Sunday, May 12 starting at noon. Adult dinners are $8.50 and children are $6.50. This includes chicken, homemade potato salad, applesauce, roll and a slice of homemade pie.

Salad luncheon in Westfield

The Altar & Rosary Society of St. Dominic Catholic Church, 15 Union St., Westfield will hold its annual salad luncheon on Wednesday, May 15, from 11:30 to 1 p.m. A large variety of salads will be served along with desserts and beverage. For more information, contact the church office at 326-2816.

The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

Committee spring fundraiser

The Westfield Republican Committee is holding its seventh annual spring fundraiser at Noble Winery on Friday, May 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. Featured will be the wines of the host, a wide array of appetizers and the beautiful view of the vineyards of Lake Erie. Tickets will be available beginning in mid-April from any committee member, elected official or by calling Marilyn Hemmer at 326-3504.

Walk Multiple Sclerosis Northern Chautauqua

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will host a Walk Multiple Sclerosis Northern Chautauqua at Russell Joy Park in Fredonia on Friday, May 19 to raise money for MS research. The event will go from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone interested may register online at www.msupstateny.org.

Hartfield Fire Company barbecues

The Hartfield Fire Company will be holding monthly barbecues this summer. The barbecues are being held on the third Sunday of the month, May 19, June 16, July 21 and Aug. 18, at the Hartfield Volunteer Fire Hall, Hartfield, off Route 430 two miles east of Mayville from noon until food is sold out.

Vietnam veterans meeting

Chapter No. 459 of the Vietnam Veterans of America will hold its only May meeting on Sunday, May 19 at John T. Murray VFW Post No. 1017, 113 Deer St., Dunkirk at 11 a.m. All Vietnam and Vietnam-era personnel are invited.
