WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month.
Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of February.
This month the sixth grade recipient is Olivia Clamp. In school, Olivia enjoys her language arts and social studies classes. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time reading mystery stories and playing the violin. In the future, Olivia hopes to continue her education at Geneseo and become either a teacher or a writer.
Victor Tolentino received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, he enjoys his science class because he gets to learn about space and the environment. He also enjoys his physical education class. As a hobby, Victor enjoys biking, swimming, basketball and playing instruments. Some goals he has for the future include possibly being in the National Basketball Association, being an astronomer and being a successful instrumentalist.
At the eighth grade level, Max Bates received this honor. In school, he enjoys both his science and language arts classes. Outside of the classroom, Max enjoys football because it allows him to learn more about the game and be a part of a team. In the future, he hopes to attend Pennsylvania State University for athletic coaching.
