WESTFIELD - The Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting its 14th annual Celebrating Spring luncheon at the Chautauqua Institution's elegant Athenaeum Hotel on Saturday, May 11.
Participants will be treated to coffee and a sweet while visiting purveyors of fine merchandise in the hotel lobby, followed by a delicious buffet lunch, musical entertainment and a chance to win the grand prize.
Tickets are $25 and include automatic entry in the grand prize drawing for a spa day at Main Street Salon and Company in downtown Westfield and two free tickets for the silent auction. Tickets may be purchased at the Four Seasons at 326-4293, Mathews Jewelers at 326-2017, Main Street Salon and Company at 326-3000, Uptown Dressers at 753-2116 or by calling Marilyn Hemmer for information and tickets at 326-3504 or 753-6043.
Parking is available in the main lot at Chautauqua Institution or on the grounds on a first come first served basis. Gentlemen, as well as ladies, are encouraged to attend. All proceeds will benefit Westfield Memorial Hospital.
Vendors open at 9 a.m., for anyone interested in some fun shopping before lunch, and will be there until the event closes. This year's vendors include Old Glory Candles, Jewels by Parklane, Uptown Dresser, Touch of Glass, Beth's Parkview Caf, Tastefully Simple, Rogala's Vintage Treasurers, Gale Street Studios, Jessica Nolan's Country and Nautical dcor and Main Street Salon and Co.
Also, the auxiliary will debut "The Welcome to Westfield Sign," the seventh in a series of ornaments, magnets and thimbles. The lottery ticket tree will also be available for those feeling lucky. And again this year there will be a silent auction with items donated by vendors and auxiliary board members. Tickets may be purchased for $1 each, five tickets for $3 or 10 tickets for $5.
The luncheon buffet begins at noon and will remain available until all are served. The menu includes mixed greens salad with assorted dressings, lemon baked cod with vodka dill sauce, grilled marinated flank steak with chimichurri, vegetable lasagna with charred tomato sauce, herb roasted red bliss potatoes, oven baked corn pudding, seasonal vegetables, assorted breads and rolls, assorted cakes and cookies, chocolate dipped strawberries and assorted beverages.
There will be an opportunity to meet Patty Ballman following lunch and then entertainment by the Chautauqua Lake Central School Chorale. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the program.
The auxiliary board hopes everyone will join them for a day of fun and fellowship. Events like this helps it continue to carry out projects at Westfield Memorial Hospital.
