Della M. Waterman, 81, of 280 Camp St., formerly of Bemus Point and Panama, died at 1:15 a.m., Tuesday (April 23, 2013) in UPMC Hamot.

She was born May 30, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the daughter of Samuel and Martha Eckhart Robinson.

Prior to retiring, she had been the manager of the Lakeside Cottages in Bemus Point for 12 years, and had earlier worked at Weber-Knapp Co., Willcare, Inc., and at the former Fenton Park Nursing Home.

She had been a member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church and was active with the Foster Grandparent program at Lincoln and Rodgers Schools.

Always one who loved to spoil her grandchildren, she also enjoyed crochet, shopping and making candy and cookies.

Surviving are three sons, Michael G. (Amy Jo) Waterman of Falconer, Dwight "Ike" D. (Shirley) Waterman of Warren, Pa., and Glenn L. (Sherry) Waterman of Panama; two daughters,

Suzzan L. Thompson of Jamestown and Brenda L. Waterman of Charlotte, N.C.; 33 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marion Przybelinski of Falconer; and a brother, Samuel Robinson of Pittsburgh, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn L. Waterman, whom she married July 20, 1951, in Inglewood, Calif., and who died April 9, 1993; and by two sons: Mark A. Waterman on Aug. 19, 1986, and Russell E. Waterman on Jan. 26, 2012.

The funeral was at 11 a.m., Friday, April 26 in Powers, Present and Sixbey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery in Niobe.
