ELLICOTT - Thomas Schrader, 28, of Brocton was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and Ashley Halas, 25, of Dunkirk was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana on Thursday, April 18.
According to the police office, a trooper pulled over a vehicle on Route 60 in Ellicott for a traffic violation. While speaking to the driver, Halas, and passenger, Schrader, the trooper allegedly smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, the following items were allegedly located: two pipes containing marijuana residue; three grams of hash; three bags of marijuana; and a scale. Halas also allegedly had four bags of marijuana in her purse. Halas and Schrader were both arrested. After processing at State Police Jamestown, Halas and Schrader were released with appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court on a later date.
SHERMAN - Michael S. Marcinko, 59, of Sherman was arrested for driving while intoxicated and given tickets for DWI, unlawful possession of marijuana and illegal parking on Saturday, April 20.
According to the police office, Marcinko was arrested after a traffic stop on Kendrick Street at around 1 a.m. Marcinko was allegedly parked in the southbound driving lane on Kendrick Street near the intersection with Park Street in the Village of Sherman. Troopers stopped Marcinko and he was allegedly found to be intoxicated after failing sobriety tests. Marcinko was also allegedly found to possess a baggie with less than 25 grams of marijuana in his pocket. He was arrested and taken to State Police Jamestown where he submitted a 0.15 percent blood alcohol content. He was given tickets to be answered in Sherman Town Court.
