Judith D. Roberts, 72, of 2301 Wait Corners Rd., Sherman, N.Y., passed away Monday, April 15, 2013, at St. Vincent Health Care Center Erie, Pa.

She was born on April 28, 1940, in Richmond, Va., the daughter of the late John and Julia (Dovala) Megat.

She was proud of her life's work as a wife, mother, cook, baker and homemaker. While helping on the family farm and raising her family, she engaged in many hobbies including crocheting, sewing, cake decorating, painting, gardening and jewelry making. Judy enjoyed decorating her home for the season and especially her huge collection of Santas. Family was first and foremost, and she will be missed by all.

She belonged to Chautauqua County Home Bureau for 30 years and was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Theta Beta Chapter. She and Art loved traveling and also maintained a winter home in Florida. "On the go" every minute, they enjoyed such destinations as Hawaii, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, cruising to Alaska, the Caribbean Islands, Mediterranean-European ports, Madeira Islands, Florence, Rome and Venice, Italy and sites throughout Ireland during their retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Roberts of Sherman, N.Y., whom she married Jan. 30, 1959; five children, Tracie Cederquist, Arthur L. Roberts (Lori Newberry), Timothy Roberts, Terry (Shelley) Roberts and Tammy (Richard) Crane; four grandchildren, Justin and Karlee Roberts and Nathan and Emma Crane; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Rayna Roberts; and a sister, Tina (Bill) Elder.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph, Bill and John Megat and Sadie Hendrickson.

The family received friends at Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, N.Y., on Friday, April 19 from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8p.m. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, April 20 at Sherman Community Church with Rev. Roger Westley officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City, Pa.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Stanley Hose Co. Fire Department, PO Box 574, Sherman, N.Y. 14781.
