Gourmet goulash dinner in Dewittville
The Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church will host a delicious gourmet goulash dinner on Saturday, April 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Route 430 and Meadows Road in Dewittville. Included will be a tossed salad, roll, dessert and beverage for a $7 donation. Proceeds from the dinner will go toward the church's two-year commitment to help support Sinclairville resident Aly Houser as she embarks on a mission as a field ministry associate in Uganda.

Lake Erie shipwrecks course
Shipwrecks of Lake Erie: Fire, Storm and Collision will be explored on Tuesday, April 23 at Jamestown Community College's Jamestown Campus. The non-credit program begins at 7 p.m., in the Carnahan Center. Tuition is $19. To register, call JCC's Center for Continuing Education at 338-1005.
Mike and Georgeann Wachter, divers who have published books on Lake Erie shipwrecks, will outline the military and commercial vessels that have been lost on the lake since the 1700s. According to the Wachters, Lake Erie may have the largest concentration of shipwrecks per square mile of any body of water in the world.

Turkey dinner in Westfield
The Kiwanis Club of Westfield-Ripley will be holding a turkey dinner with all the fixings on Thursday, April 25 at St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, 15 Union St, Westfield from 5 to 7 p.m., or until sold out. The dinner will include turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, a roll and butter, dessert, coffee, tea and punch. The cost is $8 for those 12 and up, $5 for ages 4 to 12 and free for children under 4. The proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
AARP safe driving class
On Thursday, April 25 there will be an AARP sponsored safe driving course held at the YWCA Westfield. The course, set from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is open to the general public. AARP membership is not required. The cost is $17 for AARP members or $19 for all others. Those completing the course maybe eligible for a discount on their automobile insurance premium. Pre-payment is requested. Checks or money orders may be made payable to AARP and mailed to the YWCA, 58 S. Portage St., Westfield, N.Y. 14787. Pre-registration is required. Spring Craft Bazaar in
It is time for the Spring Craft Bazaar in Findley Lake. The bazaar will be held on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the fire hall on Main St., Findley Lake. A variety of crafters and bakers from the surrounding area will be selling their handmade crafts and baked goods. The kitchen committee will be serving a variety of homemade lunch items and pie throughout the day. Participating crafters have donated items for a silent auction. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, free door prize drawings throughout the day, and admission is free. The bazaar is sponsored by the Alexander Findley Library.

The Westfield Republican Committee is holding its seventh annual spring fundraiser at Noble Winery on Friday, May 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. Featured will be the wines of the host, a wide array of appetizers and the beautiful view of the vineyards of Lake Erie.
