RIPLEY - The Ripley Free Library would like to thank everyone who attended its first annual White Elephant Auction, sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
It was a great deal of fun, and the library looks forward to bringing it back again next year. Participants were required to bring a dish to pass and a white elephant item in good condition. Proceeds from the auction went to the Friends of the Library, which, in turn, purchased needed items for the library.
The library will begin holding classes on the first Monday and first Saturday of every month for patrons who would like instruction on how to order books, movies and other materials through the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System.
Anyone who feels unsure how to maneuver around the website will be taken through the process step-by-step. It's easy, it's fun and participants will be amazed at just how much material is at their fingertips. Call ahead to reserve a computer for these classes at 736-3913.
Cheryl Wahlstrom, a master gardener from the Cornell Co-op Extension, will lead a program on Beginner Gardening - Learning the Basics on Thursday, April 25 at 6 p.m.
