FRENCH CREEK - Christian R. Kinney, 24, of Sherman was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with blood alcohol content 0.18 percent or greater, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marihuana, open container of alcohol and parking on the highway on Friday, April 5.
According to the sheriff's office, patrol located a vehicle allegedly stopped in the travel lane of Conway Road in the Town of French Creek around 11:45 p.m. The vehicle was allegedly running with the lights on. The deputy pulled along side the vehicle to check on the driver, and the vehicle allegedly appeared unoccupied. At this point, the deputy conducted a traffic stop for further investigation, and allegedly observed a male slumped over in the driver seat apparently unconscious. Open containers of alcohol were allegedly visible in the cup holder. The subject was awoken and allegedly identified as Kinney. He was administered sobriety tests, but was allegedly unable to complete them safely. Kinney was arrested. At the time of his arrest, he was allegedly found to have a switchblade knife in his pocket. Marihuana was allegedly located in his vehicle. Kinney was taken into custody and transported to the sheriff's office in Mayville. He was charged and released the following morning to a sober third party. He will answer the charges in French Creek Town Court on a later date.
HARMONY - Tyler J. Johnson, 20, of Lakewood was charged with fail to reduce speed curve and fail to keep right on Saturday, April 6.
According to the sheriff's office, a vehicle allegedly operated by Johnson was traveling northbound on Swede Road in the Town of Harmony when he allegedly failed to reduce speed on a curve, lost control and struck a ditch on the west side of the roadway around 12:30 a.m. Johnson was cited and transported by Harmony Fire Department to WCA Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
NORTH HARMONY - Joseph A. Pinzone, 24, of Route 394, Ashville was charged with second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child on Saturday, April 6.
According to the sheriff's office, Pinzone was charged after an alleged incident at a residence on Route 394 in the Town of North Harmony around 4:45 p.m. The alleged incident took place as the result of a property line dispute among neighbors. Pinzone was arraigned in North Harmony Town Court where he was released on his own recognizance.
