WESTFIELD - The Westfield Senior Citizens met on Thursday, March 14 at the YWCA with 21 members present.
Everyone enjoyed a potluck lunch.
Westfield Academy and Central School Superintendent David Davison gave a short talk on the upcoming budget and Westfield and Brocton school merger.
Guest speaker County Historian Michele Henry gave a very interesting history of the county home - from its years in Dewittville in the 1800's and forward.
Senior member Jack Dean told of his grandson kayaking in Chile at the World Class Kayaking event where he placed in the top 10.
Shirley Kolpien brought the meeting to order with the pledge to the flag. The secretary and treasurer reports were made and approved. March birthdays were Pat Smith, Enid Beadle, Gladys Hess and Kolpien. Get well wishes were sent to Marybelle Beigh and Joyce Wainwright.
Meetings from April through September will now start at 6 p.m. The Westfield Women's Organization will be serving the meal at the group's next meeting on Thursday, April 11 at the YWCA at 6 p.m. No dish to pass or table service needs to be brought.
