WESTFIELD - Officials of the Village of Westfield announced recently that the official Village of Westfield website - www.villageofwestfield.org - has been upgraded.
"The site graphics have been modernized and the overall structure of the site has been improved," Village Administrator and Clerk Vince Luce said. "We hope this will make it easier for citizens to find out more about the Village of Westfield and the services it provides."
Mayor David Carr noted the village was one of the first in the county to have its own website.
Village of Westfield Mayor David Carr and Account Clerk-Typist Erica Belson take a look at the village’s updated website, www.villageofwestfield.org.
"Our first site was developed through grant funds from the New York State Archives when I was a Village Trustee," Carr said. "We felt that after 15 years, it was time to upgrade."
The Village notes the new site now links to its Facebook page. The Village and Town Historian also has a page on the new site.
Meeting agendas and minutes will be posted, and there is also a link to the Village's "Ecode" for anyone interested in learning more about the laws which govern everything from water and sewer and flooding issues to zoning and trash and recycling.
The village eventually plans to be able to take property tax and utility bill payments online and also have links to its GIS data for everybody to be able to use.
"We also would like to have more e-surveys available to the public to ensure more rapid and progressive planning at the local government level," Luce said.
Pictures and other content deemed appropriate for the use by the public is always acceptable and welcome. Contact the village at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
