Apple devices distance learning class in Brocton, Westfield
Cool Things to Do with Your iPad, iPhone, and iPod, a non-credit distance learning course, will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 28. The course, conducted by Jamestown Community College, will be available at the Brocton, and Westfield high schools. The cost is $15. To register, call 338-1005. Participants will learn how to download useful, fun and inexpensive applications to their Apple devices.
The Big Read at Ripley library
The Big Read group will meet every Thursday evening throughout the month of February at the Ripley Free Library at 6:30 p.m., with this year's selection of "The Call of the Wild" by Jack London.

Soup supper in Westfield
The Westfield Memorial Hospital Regional Auxiliary is holding its first ever soup supper as a way to beat the winter chill. The event will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield on Monday, March 4 between 5 and 7 p.m. There will be 15 delicious soups will be on the menu, made by the members of the WMH Auxiliary Board. For $6 for adults and $3 for children, as many samples as people want many be chosen. Rounding out the menu will be bread, beverages and a vast array of homemade desserts. There is a flat $20 fee for families of four or more. All proceeds will be used to further WMH Auxiliary refurbishing projects at the hospital.

Chicken and biscuit dinner in Westfield
The Apple Seed Christian Pre-school will be holding a chicken and biscuit dinner fundraiser on Wednesday, March 6. The dinner will be served at the First United Methodist Church of Westfield, 101 E. Main St., from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Eat-in or take-out options are available. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 10 and under and free for children 2 and under. A family maximum of $30 will be offered. Pre-sale tickets available from Apple Seed families, at the pre-school or church office during office hours, or by calling 326-3110 or 581-0594. Only a limited number will be available at the door for an extra $1. Proceeds will benefit the pre-school.

Westfield Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Mayville Senior Citizens
The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

The Westfield Senior Citizens meet on the second Thursday of the month at the YWCA Westfield at noon. Everyone is asked to bring a signed valentine for distribution to the rest of the members in attendance.
Parkinson's support group at Absolut Care in Westfield
The Absolut Care of Westfield's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the second Thursday of the month in the Absolut Care Activity Room from 4 to 5 p.m.

Benefit in Hartfield
There will be a benefit for Pam Smith to help with medical expenses for a necessary surgery performed by a surgeon in Texas. The benefit will be held at the Hartfield Fire Hall on Elmwood Rd., in Hartfield on Saturday, March 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost for the spaghetti dinner is $8 for those 13 years old and up, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children ages 5 and under. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 chances.
