The Allegheny Highlands Council, Boy Scouts of America recently recognized its 2012 class of Eagle Scouts at Saint Bonaventure University. The Eagle Scouts, along with their parents and scoutmaster, were guests of the council at a dinner in their honor. Eighteen of the 40 young men who attained the rank of Eagle Scout were able to attend, along with other past Eagle Scouts. Collectively, the 40 Eagle Scouts gave leadership to community service projects totaling over 5,500 hours of service. Over 100 were in attendance to celebrate the scouts’ achievements as well as the 100th anniversary of the Eagle Scout Award. For more information about Boy Scouts in the community, call the Scout Service Center at 665-2697 or visit www.alleghenyhighlands.org.
