WESTFIELD - January finds the Westfield Memorial Hospital Regional Auxiliary Board busy working on its annual membership drive.
The auxiliary would like to encourage everyone in the area to consider joining this important hospital and community organization. Last year was another very successful year for WMH Regional Auxiliary. Fundraisers included the Spring Celebration Luncheon at Chautauqua Institution, the pie booth at the Westfield Arts and Crafts Show in July, Parklane Jewelry sales, lottery trees, the Walk for Wellness, the Fall Harvest Dinner and of course the sale of beautiful keepsake porcelain ornaments, magnets and thimbles.
With the funds raised, the auxiliary was able to upgrade the surgical waiting room with new paint, accessories and reupholstered furniture. The Women's Health Center was refurbished, painted and decorated. The Physical Therapy and Cardiac Rehab areas are currently getting a facelift. Also the in-patient rooms are being painted, new blinds have been ordered and decisions are being made as to what other improvements will be made. All of these projects were coordinated by the auxiliary.
Currently members will soon be receiving a new membership card in the mail. The auxiliary encourages them to send it in and join in another productive year. Those who are not members, but would like to join in the auxiliary's worthwhile endeavors should call Judy Fingerhut at 326-6138. She will be delighted to send out a membership card and answer any questions about the organization. The annual membership fee is $5. Membership cards and money may be mailed to Westfield Memorial Hospital Regional Auxiliary, 189 E Main St., Westfield, N.Y., 14787. The auxiliary hopes to see some new faces this year.
