RIPLEY - Craig Kopta, 32, of E. Johnson Rd., Ripley was arrested for driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle and failing to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of address change on Saturday, Jan. 19.
According to the police office, Fredonia troopers arrested Kopta following a traffic stop on Shortman Rd., Ripley for no lit headlight around 8:45 p.m. Kopta allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent. Charges to be answered in Ripley Town Court.
PORTLAND - Jennifer Thornton, 29, of Lake Ave., Brocton was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Sunday, Jan. 20.
According to the police office, Fredonia troopers arrested Thornton following a traffic stop on Route 20 in the Town of Portland around 10:45 p.m. Troopers allege that upon interviewing Thornton for having an insecure front plate, the odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. Thornton was allegedly found to be in possession of approximately four and a half grams of marijuana and a smoking pipe containing burnt marijuana residue. A Department of Motor Vehicle check allegedly revealed her license and registration to be suspended for insurance not in effect. She is to appear in Portland Town Court.
