Dorothy V. Salisbury, 87, of Clay, N.Y., formally of Mayville, N.Y., Buffalo, N.Y., and Fairfield, Conn., died peacefully on Jan. 22, 2013, at Van Duyn Home and Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., on March 16, 1925, she was the daughter of Anna (Meinke) and Arthur Schultz. She was the beloved wife of William J. Salisbury for 57 years.
A retired executive assistant, she worked for Fairfield University and Upstate Medical Center in addition to being the former co-owner of Limited Edition by Salisbury, Inc.
Throughout her life, Dorothy enjoyed bowling, bridge, singing, knitting and embroidery, as well as antiquing and organizing her various collectibles.
In addition to her kind and loving husband, she is survived by her daughter, Katherine A. Marusa and husband Michael of Sandy Hook, Conn.; her, grandson David J. Marusa of New Cumberland, Pa.; her granddaughter, Laura A. Brennan and husband Michael of Newtown, Conn.; her grandson, Michael A. Marusa and wife Christie of State College, Pa.; her great-grandchildren, Kevin, Kelsey and Justin Brennan and Ryan and Jack Marusa; her beloved godsons, Dennis E. Schultz and his family of Clarence, N.Y., and James Meinke and his family of Depew, N.Y.; her nephew, Jeffery Schultz and his family of Knoxville, Tenn.; as well as several cousins.
A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, Jan. 26 at Pietszak Funeral Home Cheektowaga, N.Y., with interment immediately following at Saint Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca, N.Y.
