MAYVILLE - Betty Stacey Lucariello, 76, of Bemus Point, formerly of Mayville, died Saturday (Jan. 26, 2013) in Cleveland Clinic due to complications from heart surgery.
She was born Nov. 6, 1936 in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late William Stacey and Bessie Chapman Stacey Burgess.
Betty was a graduate of Mayville Central School in 1954, and then attended Jamestown Business College. She had worked in several capacities while raising her six children. She was a secretary at Chautauqua Malted Milk, a teacher's aide at the former Mayville Central School, a clerk at Webb's Candies and a sales order clerk for Renold Inc., in Westfield.

Betty was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes RC Church in Mayville, the Altar Rosary Society, a former member of the PTA at Mayville Central School and secretary of the Mayville-Chautauqua Little League Baseball program.
She enjoyed reading, baking, decorating her home, watching sports, sewing doll clothes and crocheting baby blankets. She especially enjoyed playing cards and board games with her children and grandchildren. She was known to many people as, "Grandma Luke." She was a positive, genuine person who was loved and admired by many. Her happy disposition and heart-warming smile will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick L. Lucariello, whom she married Oct. 27, 1956, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mayville; six children, Cindy McGlone (Patrick) of Gaithersburg, Md., Steve Lucariello (Barb) of Sherman, Sandy Hogue (Bob) of Dayton, Md., Pat Lucariello, Jr., (Kolleen) of Parish, N.Y., Kathy Hobson (Jack) of Cambridge Springs, Pa., and Karin Shearer (Randy) of Ashville, N.Y.; 17 Grandchildren, Katie Monahan (TJ), Patrick McGlone (Alida), Tara Keelin Ha (Anfon), Ryan McGlone (Jen), Amanda Hogue, Bobby Hogue, Jon Hogue, Adam Lucariello (Caroline), Sarah Russell (Jeff), Matt Lucariello, Allie Einink, Brad Einink, Randy Shearer, Ty Shearer, Kourtney Shearer, Joel Hobson and Josh Hobson; five great grandchildren, Joey Ha, Paxton Ha, Esme Ha, Emerson Monahan and Mason Russell; and two sisters, Fran Raynor and Shirley Sherman both of Mayville.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Bessie and Emmett Burgess; her father, William Stacey; a brother, Richard Stacey; and a son-in-law, Bradley Einink.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 1 in St. Mary of Lourdes RC Church in Mayville. Rev. Todd Remick will officiate. Burial will be in Mayville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville.
