Dorothy Chambers, 87, of Sherman-Stedman Road, passed away Jan. 11, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Care Center, Erie.
She was born April 7, 1925, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late John Nicholas Mostert and Margaret Claire Carley.
Throughout her life Dorothy worked at many factories in the local area, and she enjoyed her work as a home health care aide. She enjoyed crocheting, her pets and gardening.
She is survived by her son William H. Chambers III, and her daughters Julie Chambers and Ann (Tom) Smith, all of Sherman. Also surviving are five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; two brothers, Chuck Warner, Erie, Pa., and Clair Carley, Wattsburg, Pa.; and her sister, June Mortimer, West Valley, N.Y.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by, her husband, William H. Chambers Jr., on Aug. 12, 1988, whom she married November 27, 1949; three sons, John, Richard and Edward Chambers, and also by a sister, Bertha Thorpe.
The funeral service were held Jan. 16 at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, with the Rev. Paul Sears, pastor of the Sherman First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Mina Cemetery.
