RIPLEY - Harriet L. (Felton) Feiss, 92, of Ripley died at home Jan. 12, 2013.
She was born in North East, Pa., on April 20, 1920 to the late George N. and Clarissa Bertha (Allen) Felton.
Harriet graduated from North East High School in 1938. On April 10, 1942, she married Lewis V. Feiss, who died in 1991. Harriet lived in Ripley for 60 years and was a homemaker who enjoyed a variety of activities, including bowling, basketball, fishing, and playing cards, specifically poker and 500. She was a member of the Ripley Grange and had worked for a time at the former Colonial Squire motel.
She is survived by a son, Grant N. (Sandy) Feiss; a daughter, Barbara Feiss; a sister, Lois Rouse; and a daughter-in-law, Helen Lewis (Feiss) Tracey. She is further survived by grandchildren Kerry (Darrin) Nesbitt, Jody Pacyliak, Stephanie Feiss and Mark Feiss; and great-grandchildren, Derrick and Dustin Nesbitt, Zayn Pacyliak, and James, Rachel and Sarah Peterson, as well as a niece and several nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Harriet was preceded in death by her son, Clair E. Feiss; sisters Gladys Meehl and Betty Baldwin; brothers Harold, Fred and George Felton; and a nephew, Gary N. Felton.
Relatives and friends may call at the Matthews Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Ripley, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Phillip Johnson officiating.
Donations in Harriet's memory can be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, the Ripley Grange/Kiwanis scholarship fund or the Ripley Hose Co. No. 1, and would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Donations may be made in care of the Mathews Funeral Home.
