Westfield-Ripley-CLCS wins Ripley Invitational title

RIPLEY - Host Westfield-Ripley-Chautauqua Lake earned three wrestling titles in capturing the Ripley Invitational on Saturday evening.

Kale Gilbert, Nick Hudson and Nick Zentz claimed titles as WRCL won the crown with 191 points followed by Southwestern with 144 points, Sweet Home with 143 , Dunkirk with 129 and Randolph with 120

Cassadaga Valley was eighth with 89 points, Maple Grove ninth with 81 , Panama 12th with 46 and Cattaraugus-Little Valley/Pine Valley 14th with 24 points in the 16-team field.

In the 152-pound semifinals of the Ripley Invitational wrestling tournamet, Nick Zentz of West-Ripley-Chautauqua Lake tries to break away from Nick Peterson of Cassadaga Valley.

Gilbert captured the title at 132 pounds, Hudson at 113 pounds and Zentz at 152 pounds for the champions.

Southwestern claimed two titles from Ryan Hetrick (99) and Brian Westerdahl (138).

Tito Colom won for Dunkirk at 106 pounds, Mark Ecklund for Panama at 126 pounds, Matt Booth for Cattaraugus-Little Valley/Pine Valley at 195 pounds and Jimmy Carr for Randolph at 170 pounds.
