WESTFIELD - The Chautauqua County Vegetarian-Vegan Society will meet in Westfield on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place at the YWCA, 58 S. Portage St., Westfield.
The program will be a holiday get-together. There will be finger foods and holiday music. A few food-related games or quizzes will take place to test participants' knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating with prizes awarded to the winners.
The menu will be holiday finger food potluck. Those coming are invited, but not required, to bring a finger food to share which will serve eight to 12 people, as well as the recipe. Some suggestions are: party sandwiches; raw veggies with or without dip; fresh fruit; nuts and dried fruits; or cookies. All food should be vegan - no meat, eggs, milk, butter or other dairy products used in preparing it - organic if possible and able to be eaten off a paper plate. The cost is $6 per person or free for those bringing a dish. To make a reservation, call Gail at 753-7761 afternoons and weekends or 753-2205 on weekday evenings or Anne at 782-4334 or e-mail email@example.com.
All meetings are open to the public. Attendees do not need to be vegan or vegetarian to attend a meeting. It is open to anyone who is interested in learning about healthy eating and living. The Vegetarian Society is an information and support group for individuals seeking to explore healthy eating through vegetarian, vegan or raw food lifestyles.
