MAYVILLE - Norman C. Arnold, 88, of Mill Road, Mayville, formerly of Forestville, died Nov. 23, at his residence, following a short illness. He was born in the Town of Arkwright, on February 16, 1924, the son of the late Clifford and Millie (Bartkowski) Arnold.
Mr. Arnold served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during World War II and worked as a groundman for the former Niagara Mohawk Fredonia for 34 years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling & playing cards.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy J. (Golden) Arnold, of Mayville, whom he married on May 8, 1948, in the Forestville Baptist Church, five sons Larry (Pamela) Arnold, of Mayville, Bob Arnold, of Cherry Creek, Wade (Janet) Arnold, of Perrysburg, Gary Arnold, of Mayville, Timothy (Debbie) Arnold, of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Harrington, of Fredonia, and a sister, Lorraine Bannister, of Arcade. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Alfred Arnold and a sister Doris Arnold.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville with Christopher Arnold, grandson of the deceased, officiating. Interment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.
