Helen Beckerink

Helen Beckerink, 93, of Clymer, N.Y., went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Nov. 23, 2012, at Golden Living Kinzua, in Warren, Pa. She was born July 18, 1919, in French Creek, N.Y. the daughter of the late George W. and Anna Bakerink Croscutt.

She was an active member of Clymer Hill Reformed Church and attended Bayshore Reformed Church in Bradenton. She enjoyed sewing, playing piano and organ. She became a licensed beautician while spending winters in Florida. In 1965 she completed five years of memorizing Bible verses. She was known at Golden Living as the lady that smiled all the time.

She is survived by two daughters; Sharon (Bernard) tenPas of Kennedy; Johann Munger of Sherman; two sons, Howard Jr. (Paulette) Beckerink of Muleshoe, Texas and North Carolina; and John Beckerink of Sherman and Bradenton, Fla. Also surviving are grandchildren Eugene tenPas of Kennedy; Martin tenPas of Goole, Va.; Shelley tenPas Ayers of Wake Forest, N.C.; Kristine Munger Hamilton of Rincon, Ga.; Kimberly (Todd) Cole of Sherman; Matthew (Nancy) Beckerink of Muleshoe, Texas; Pastor Michael (Erin) Beckerink, Clymer; Bethany Richardson of Fuquay Varina, N.C.; and Annissa Edwards of North Carolina. Helen had 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Howard Beckerink in 1985; her second husband Richard Crosscut in 1996; a grandson, Derrik J. tenPas, in 1994; a great-grandson Jeffrey Beckerink; sisters Merriam Einink, Wilma Beckerink, Irma Colligan, Elinor Dolan, and a brother Donald Croscutt.

Helen's funeral will be held Dec. 1 at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman. Visitation hours will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow. Rev. Michael Beckerink and John Beckerink will officiate.

The family would like to thank Golden Living of Warren and Asercare Hospice for the excellent and loving care that our loved one received.
