Frances Sanzo, age 90, a resident of Millcreek, Pa., passed away at home on Nov. 21, 2012, surrounded by her family. Born July 29, 1922, in Torre di Ruggerio, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Elisabetta Cristello and Frank Appa.

She previously had been employed as a seamstress at the NuBone Company and B. Berman Bedding. She had been a member of Christian Assembly Church in Erie for 40 years and currently was a member of Lakeshore Assembly of God in Westfield, where her son, Vinny, is pastor.

Frances immigrated to the United States with her family in 1953 and was so proud to become a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1968. The most important things in Frances' life were her faith in her Lord and her love for her family. She loved her family unconditionally and throughout her lifetime prayed for them daily and was always there to listen and support them. She loved gardening, cooking and baking and was affectionately known as "Mama" Sanzo to many who knew and loved her.
