Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

Holiday closings

YWCA administrative offices and programs will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23 to observe the Thanksgiving holiday. The fitness center will remain open and accessible to members via their PIN code.

Holiday shopping

When doing holiday shopping, consider a gift for the YWCA. Its list includes sheets and towels for the upstairs bedrooms, tablecloths for the assembly room tables, new lamps for the living room and a variety of other home furnishings. The office could use pens, paper, printer ink, staples, paperclips and other office supplies. Give a call or stop in for a visit. The staff would be happy to share details and specifics.

Office hours

Office hours for the YWCA are traditionally 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays with evening coverage on Tuesday. Because the YWCA has a small staff, there maybe occasions when they are off site. Anyone with urgent business or who is making a special trip to the YWCA, it is suggested to call ahead to make sure someone is available.

Holiday Open House

Area residents, YWCA members and the general public are invited to the annual YWCA Holiday Open House. On Thursday, Dec. 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m., staff, board members and trustees will be on hand to share the holiday spirit.

"The building is beautifully decorated and we are looking forward to visitors," board member Cassidy Cooney said. "This has become a tradition at the YWCA. It's a chance for YWCA staff, board members and trustees to meet and greet our members and the general public."

Light refreshments will be served. There is no charge and while reservations are requested, they are not required. People are welcome to drop in.
