WESTFIELD - On Monday, Oct. 15, the Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Board tried a new fundraising venture.
It hosted a harvest dinner at Lakeshore Assembly of God. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings was served to around 100 guests. The group realized a profit of nearly $800, which will be used for various projects at the hospital.
The group is most appreciative of the support of community members and businesses that helped make this event a success. Ron Powers took on the responsibilities of food shopping and preparing this delicious meal. Lakeshore Assembly of God graciously let the group use its fellowship hall and church kitchen. Kim Sanzo did a great job of decorating the hall. Thanks go out to Better Baked Foods for donating bread and Grower's Grape Juice Co-op for their donation of grape juice. A very special thanks to all the community members who came out on a very rainy evening to support the WMH Auxiliary.
The WMH Auxiliary Board would also like to remind everyone the group will have a booth at the Christmas in Westfield arts and crafts show in Eason Hall on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18. The ornaments, magnets and thimbles make great Christmas gifts. Another great gift idea is a lottery ticket from the lottery tree. Support of this organization is always appreciated.
