WESTFIELD - Enjoy being around food? If so, the Westfield Community Kitchen has just the opportunity.
The kitchen is in need of volunteers to cook and serve lunch during the week at St. Peter's Episcopal church on Elm St., in Westfield. Current kitchen manager Sharon Ackerdorf plans the menus using food on hand and will have everything needed to prepare a lunch to be served to the kitchen's clients. Cooks arrive at 9:30 a.m., and work until approximately 11 a.m., or until lunch has been prepared. If cooking isn't the right task, consider serving and cleaning-up. Servers arrive between 10:30 and 11 a.m., and are usually finished and leaving the kitchen tidy by 1 p.m.
The Westfield Community Kitchen serves a nutritious, hot lunch to anyone between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. There are no qualifications to receive lunch.
Anyone interested in giving two hours, one day a week or being a much-needed substitute should contact Scott Brasted at 753-6926 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
